IT’S AN HONOUR TO BE CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL WOMENS’ DAY. A DAY WHICH HAD ITS ORIGINS IN EUROPE IN 1911. AUSTRALIA’S FIRST INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY WAS HELD IN SYDNEY 85 YEARS AGO. AROUND THE WORLD, SUPPORTERS LIKE US, GATHER TO REINFORCE THE VALUE OF BUILDING CONNECTIONS; CONNECTIONS THAT NOT ONLY ADVANCE PERSONAL WELL-BEING, BUT ENABLE US TO BUILD THRIVING, SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES.

In a letter received by email and signed by Susan Middleditch, Deputy Director General System Support Services, Queensland Health and dated 21 September 2012, the president of Charters Towers Neighbourhood Centre (CTNC), Dave Luxton, was informed of the total defunding by the Newman Government of the Healthy Lifestyle Programme conducted by CTNC.

A Night of Health and Hilarity was hosted by the staff of the Charters Towers Neighbourhood Centre’s Healthy Lifestyle Program and Quiz Master Allan Georgee on September 15 from 7pm to 11pm at the Charters Towers showgrounds.
