Gallery: Water safety does not take an Olympic effort, but at Oak Park it sure did help.
Olympic swimmer Lara Davenport made sure that the kids had their fair share of fun at the inaugural Outback Health & Fitness Muster. Of the many activities available for the kids, swimming with Lara was clearly the most popular.
The Gold medallist from Beijing joined about 20 kids who braved the cold waters of the Copperfield River to learn how to stay safe in their own creeks and dams. The kids gained first hand experience in safely entering and exiting the water, checking for hazards, and through a series of games developed the skills to rescue others.
This is so great, said one parent. We can tell the kids until we are blue in the face, but you can see them really taking it in here and you can see that they have learned what to do and what not to do.

E-Village was the major sponsor of the inaugural Outback Health & Fitness Muster, held at Oak Park in the last week of August.

It was a great day and fantastic for the kids to swim with Lara in person she is very inspirational. Thank you Evillage for making this happen.
