Teen Tweeter talks about growing up too fast
By Teen Tweeter
Piercings, Make-up, Short shorts, Midriffs, iPhones, Facebook. This is what children of today are growing up with. Does it shock you? The thought of children no longer having a childhood?
Kids today are looking as though “they have been playing in their mother’s closet”. It sort of saddens me to see that people I used to have the best times with now have put behind their childhood, to be something they’re not. Children these days feel as though they need these things to be accepted, but unfortunately they are being accepted for something they aren’t.
I question why they wear all that make-up and barely any clothes.
Is it a mask?
But if so, what are they trying to hide from?
The people I see walk around like this are truly beautiful people inside and out, but they aren’t seen for that because you can’t actually see the real them under this “mask” they have created for themselves. Kids should be out and exploring the world, not their mothers’ closets. Seeing the world though the eyes of a child not a teen. Expressing what they feel through actions, not their clothes.
I miss seeing children running around, being mischievous, being up to no good just because it’s what they enjoyed. I now see children covered up by make-up, shown off by clothes, hidden behind electronics, and I hate it. I want the children of yesterday back. Not the children of today.
