Three men arrested after security guard bashed with brick, star picket at sports field on North St, Caloundra

A SECURITY guard was allegedly bashed with a brick and a star picket by three men during a horrifying assault at a Sunshine Coast sports field early Sunday morning. The 53-year-old man was patrolling the sports field on North Street at Caloundra about 4.30am when he startled the trio, who then turned around and attacked him.
He is recovering from serious head injuries and lacerations to his legs in Nambour General Hospital.
Three men from Golden Beach – two aged 20 years old, and one aged 18 years old have been arrested by police.
They have been charged with two counts each of enter premises and commit an indictable offence and one count each of grievous bodily harm.
They are due to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday.
