Relay for Life well supported in Charters Towers
By Trish Gallacher
Local team for the Relay for Life CTNC (pictured above) is participating for their second year in the annual event. The Relay for Life event takes place on 15/16th September 2012 at the Charters Towers Show Grounds.
CTNC team members Letitia Moriarty, Judy Williams and Kylie McDonald have been busily organising fundraising events to raise funds for the Cancer Council Queensland as part of their team requirements for the Relay for Life.
CTNC also like to dress up for the event with the 2011 theme of “Sister Act” and “Olympic Games” will be the theme for 2012. Relay For Life involves teams of 10 to 15 people walking around a track overnight for 18 hours.
My entire family support the Relay for Life by participating in the event each year and raise funds for the Cancer Council Queensland, said Letitia Moriarty.
Saturday 14th July the CTNC team will host a fundraising event “Girls Night In”. The event will be held at the Arthur Titley Centre, Charters Towers and will cost $25.00 for admission. All money raised will be donated to the Cancer Council Queensland.
The night will be filled with entertainment for local girls to enjoy a wonderful night and raise money for a great cause. A light supper and dessert will be complimentary. Festivities include male waiters whom are to be auctioned for table service on the evening, mystery raffles, mystery auctions, displays from Undercoverwear, Bodyshop, Evviva Jewellery, Positively Pink, Body Wraps and much more.
Adult games will also be on the agenda with Positively Pink being the host. Bar facilities including spirits, wine and softdrink will be on sale.
I think the “Girls Night In” is going to be an awesome night and it is a special way of honouring women with cancer, said Letitia Moriarty.
