Five Minutes With … Frank Beveridge

Resources: Stella McMahon

Five Minutes With … today will find you with another Mayoral candidate.  It was my misfortune because of my commitments that I was unable to do a face to face interview with him but I am sure many of you will already know him, apart from his face around Council but also when he was attending your carpets or even treading the boards with Towers Players. So join me in taking:

Five Minutes With … Frank Beveridge.

Q)   Where would you take someone if you only had time to visit one place in Charters Towers and why?

Towers Hill lookout. You can see where the town has been and where it is going.

Q)  If you could take one thing on a deserted Island, what would it be?

My wife Sharon.

Q)  Who would you invite to dinner?

Richard Branson.

Q) Who would you most aspire to be and why?

Dick Smith. He has raised his family and made his money and is now trying to make Australia a better place.

Q) What charity would you back and why?

School Chaplaincy. So many young children and adults need help and support at school and if they get it, it can change their lives.

Q)  If you wrote a book what title would you give it?

 The meaning of life.

Q) Advice for your children?

Be nice to every one and don’t take life for granted.

Q) What act of kindness has been done to you that has caused a change reaction?

In a motor bike race from Sydney to Darwin, a local grazier gave me  enough money for fuel. I crashed half way and was knocked out but did not give up because people put faith in me.

What I enjoy most about this segment is the way other people’s answers make you think a little deeper yourself.  Some of the things that are said, are morals, or ideals that you normally live by, but they maybe bring them to the fore a little.  Have a nice day everyone and talk to you again soon.

:-)
